Construction Induction Course in Occupational Health and Safety (OH&S)

Commonly referred to in the Industry as the ‘White Card’ and updated from the ‘Red Card’. “White Card” is national recognised.

About This Training Course:

All persons working on construction sites in Victoria must undergo Construction Induction to prove they have completed basic, industry-wide Occupational Health and Safety induction training. The Trade Institute of Victoria is an authorised provider of this training.

Purpose and Description:

Recent legislative changes have imposed strict OH&S requirements on home builders, supervisors & sub-contractors. This Construction Induction has been endorsed by the Foundations for Safety Committee and meets the requirements as set out by the Victorian Work Cover Authority.

Unit(s) Covered:

• CPCCOHS1001A – Work safely in the construction industry

Subjects Covered:

• Identify OH&S legislative requirements
• Identify construction hazards and control measures
• Identify OHS communication and reporting processes
• Identify OHS incident response procedures

Who should attend?

• All persons who work on Victorian construction sites.

Course Duration:

• One day conducted between 9.00 am and 3.00 pm

On Completion:

Course participants assessed as ‘Competent’ will be provided with a Statement of Attainment at the completion of the course. Their ‘white card’ will be posted to the nominated address within 4 weeks of the course completion by Worksafe Victoria.
